PTV - Manager Ali Daei says the Iranian national soccer team needs to hold another training camp before the match against Saudi Arabia.  “The Iranian squad needs a training camp on Kish Island to improve coordination among the players,” Daei said after the Iran-Azerbaijan match.

“Saudi Arabia has been holding a training camp for three months. We need a 10-day camp to gain a better understanding of the team and the players,” he added.

The coach pointed out that the national squad needs Bochum’s Vahid Hashemian as the forward among Iran’s European-based stars.

Iran will clash with Saudi Arabia on September 6 as part of the Asian qualifying round for the 2010 South Africa World Cup.

Powerhouse Iran is in Group B of the final Asian qualifying round competing against Saudi Arabia, North Korea, the UAE and South Korea.
