PTV - Esteqlal and Zob Ahan continue to run neck-and-neck in Iran’s Premier League while Persepolis suffered its second consecutive defeat.
Esteqlal beat Mes 2-1 at home on Saturday, thanks to Arash Borhani’s last-minute goal and Zob Ahan sealed a 3-1 home victory over Persepolis.
The Blues retained their top position with 40 points and Zob Ahan is second on goal difference.
Persepolis remained third with 33 points despite the loss while Peykan defeated Moqavemat 2-1 to stand in the fourth position on level points with Persepolis.
Saba Battery and Sepahan ended in a 1-1 draw and Malavan thrashed Foulad 3-0 to celebrate its second consecutive win, following Tuesday’s 2-0 victory over Persepolis in Tehran.
Payam beat bottom-placed Damash 3-2 while Saipa and Pas beat Rah Ahan and Barq 1-0 respectively.
