KUALA LUMPUR: The AFC has approved the use of the Shahid Bahonar Stadium as the home venue for AFC Champions League newcomers Mes Kerman in this year’s tournament.The Iranian side were asked to complete renovation and upgrading work in order for the stadium to meet ACL criteria.
In a letter to the Iran Football Federation, the AFC said the 15,000-seater stadium conforms to requirements.
Mes Kerman, who qualified for the tournament by finishing third in the Iran Pro League, are in Group D with Qatar’s Al Sadd, Al Ahli, of United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal.
