PTV - Bahrain may buy one billion cubic feet of gas from Iran to fuel the country's massive development, Bahrain Petroleum Company CEO says.

A Bahraini delegation is due in Tehran Tuesday to hold negotiations on the purchase one billion cubic feet of gas every day from Iran, Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) chief executive, Abdulkarim Al Sayed added.

"We are exploring the possibility of importing gas from Iran, Qatar and other countries. We also want to enhance gas production from our own reserves.

Tehran-Manama talks on purchase of gas are expected to last for two days.

Iran holds the world's second largest gas reserves in the world after Russia as well as being the world's fourth-largest oil producer.

Iran's Oil Minister Gholam-Hossein Nozari told ISNA on Tuesday that the country plans to develop its domestic gas projects, aiming to raise its share in the world gas market to 8 percent in the future.
