REVOLUTION, IRI and IRAN, past and future
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IRAN was always ahead of most middle eastern and islamic nations by most of the historical developments!
if you look at past, you'll realize
IRAN was the first muslim and middle eastern country, where a constutional revolution happened. people like Sattar Khan or Bagher khan were true freedom fighters to open the first doors for more rights and votes...
in 1950's IRAN was almost one of the first third world nations which started with the nationalization process of their recources.
in 1979 IRAN was also one of first middle eastern country where people stand up and ended a puppet Western government....while in the rest of middle east we still have puppets governments which just recieve their orders from Washington or London
and today IRANIAN population once again stand up to take back their revolution from those who try to build a religious dictatorship in IRAN
important political development mostly happened in IRAN earlier than other middle eastern countries, that why IRAN often has been a type of model for others.... after mossadegh some other leaders like Nasser tried to follow his route(even sadly foreign imperial powers often destroyed the movements)
One reason why the developments in IRAN and entire middle east is often facing huge problems or even backfire, has to do with difficult geopolitical conditions... Once in Europe revolutions like French revolution could change the society fast...in middle east we have a strong blockade and that are the foreign powers... without influence of foreign powers middle east would already after 1950's would follow Dr. Mossadegh route and in one or two decades we would have every where in middle east probally nationalistic democratic government....but unlike Europe in 19th century, middle eastern countries always have to suffer cuz of colonial and imperial powers which could manipulate the developments in past...
After 1979 it was a huge hope that IRAN can become the first definitve independent nation in middle east(by independence I mean a real indepence, not an independence on paper but having a puppet government like SHAH or oil sheicks)
but sadly after 1979 revolution, the religious forces and mullahs ignored that IRANIAN came on street for a better life and freedom, so mullahs start to believe that they can themselves be the new bosses.... maybe the biggest difference between IRI and SHAH government was the fact that IRI isn't a system running by 1 or 2 individuals.... inside IRI there are different interessts...some part of IRI or more closer to BAZAR and business like Rafsendjani...they wanted sort of liberal open market, so they can themselves make big money and just keep Islam there to justify and legalize their own big business...another part of IRI were mostly those forces who were in 70's part of student movements and believed in social justice and wished IRAN to more be a type of social islamic republic state..MR. Moussavi was a part of that group...than we had the conservative islamist section, which actually not so much care on any type of votes, but more wanted to find a way to use and if necessary change the law to legalize their vision of a fully islamic society were a leader "velayate faghih" actually would be able to decide every thing himself including people's destiny...Khamenei is the most known member of this section....
as I always said before, changes in IRAN can only happen from inside by public pressure... public pressure now starts to create a devision inside IRI.... this is a historical chance for IRANIANS to get rid of the most conservative part of IRI.... so it was smart to vote for Moussavi and support him....
IRI now beginns to weaken... but public pressure most continue...so people like Moussawi even would understand, that they must adapt themselves to wishes of population and not want to manipulate the population to adapt to their wishes....
in long therm reformist will have one choice and that would be to adapt to people's wishes of having a full democracy, if the reformists in long therm would try to keep IRI by tricking the people, they would themselves very fast lose the public supprot
in coming weeks and months IRI will have two choices , weather allow a step by step democratization of IRAN, that would mean continuing the road people like Chatami or Moussavi were trying to start .
or taking the road of Ahmadinejad and Khamenei, which would IRI become exactly the same as Shah, and that would make IRI also have the exact same destiny as Shah had...
I always said changes must have happen from inside IRAN by pressure on government and today IRANIAN population proves that it is possible....the last few days courageus and freedom loving IRANIANS have shown the world that they want changes....
this movement in IRAN will bring huge changes in entire middle east in future...
as I said before
-IRAN was the first middle eastern country with a parlimant after "enghelabe Mashroote"
- IRAN was the first middle eastern country which started the fight for nationalizing of the oil in 1950's
- IRAN was the first middle eastern country were a pro WESTERN dictator like SHAH has been kicked out and the as the first middle eastern country IRAN started to make decsisions without orders from Washington or LONDON
- and now in IRAN a movement is starting which hopefully will make IRAN become the first real democracy in middle east
of course the pressure on IRI must continue, and people must keeping the fight for more democracy and freedom but there are few things which IRANIANS must be carefull about :
1. we shouldn't allow foreign forces take advantage of the situation and bring back again kings or military dictators on power
2. we shouldn't let western powers to create devision among us, by allowing any separatist movements take advantage of the situation
3. even if Moussawi would win the election, that shouldn't be the end. moussawi must daily been asked and if necessary forced to continue with democratization and reforms in IRAN. Else he would have the same destiny as Khamenei or Shah
