privatization of IRANAIR is a complicated issue...specially since IRANAIR problems wouldn't change after a privatization on paper much as long the real conditions wouldn't change
by a little analyzing of situation: few facts apear to be important
IRAN as a country with 70 milion population and huge oil and gas reserves is an interesstign market for every aviation company or airline...so no matter if IRAN AIR is a national airline or a private airline the potential are huge if the conditions would be fair
to solve the problem first we must know them
Iran Air has two type of problems
A) political problemsthe fact that USA has put an unfair embargo on IRAN aviation industry and even fhas orced Europeans to stop any export of airplanes to IRAN is a political fact, which might be unfair but IRAN's government and IRANAIR managment must find alternative solutions instead of waiting and hoping....
with some creativity and smartness this problem could find alternative solutions!
potential solutions:
IRAN could ask nations which good relations to us like Venezuela, Brazil or China to order some 10-15 new airbus planes for their own airlines and after 1 or 2 year IRAN AIR could buy those planes second hand from those airlines....but till today IRAN AIR managment and the government mostly waiting and hoping...I wouldn't call that a smart problem managment...till today IRAN AIR just has rent few older airbus by emirates and turkish under very bad conditions
another possible solution would be to buy newer Russian made passenger planes like TU-204 which are good planes and could offer at least a reasonable alrernative to our 30-35 years Boeings...but instead of that we only see few third hand 20-30 years old russian planes bought from Azerbaidjan flying on IRANIAN domestic routes by some Airlines like Saha or Kish Air
B)managment problem
Iran Air managment ist mostly an order recieving oragn....if government would decide Homa should fly to BAngladesh tomorow, they have to do it, no matter if the route would make ecconomically a profit or not
another problem is all the islamic law which Iran Air has to follow.... I mean no matter if IRAN AIR is national airline or private airline as long as the service suck and the stewardesses are fully covered in black islamic dresses, it wouldn't attrack much foreign tourists to fly IRAN AIR
I mean even IRANAIR is forced to use some islamic dresses for their hosstesses at least some creativity could make it more firendly looking just compare yourself following dresses of muslim countries stewardess's uniforms with IRAN AIR and judge yourself
