As the saying goes . . . do or die game for Iran in about 8 hours.
If Iran loses or ties the game is OUT.  Only win will see Iran to go to the next round.

Go our boys.  Makes us proud.  Doodoro do Iran.  Doodoro do Iran. Grin Smiley Grin

HT: goal for Iran in min.: 6 Cheesy
   Iran played better than Syria.
Second half: Goal for Syria in min: 79
  A mistake by our goalie

Iran 1 - Syria 1
Iran is eliminated. Embarrassed

So far not good.  Our U-19 and U-16 are eliminated in preliminary round(s). Tongue
The next big show, Qatar in January 2010.  With Afshin Qotebi announcing that he will step down after the cup, what is his motivation?

Our U-16 did not play well.  The coaching was poor.  If long balls do NOT work, why not change the strategy? Undecided

This is the end of reporting for this thread. Kiss

Well, Iran are out after drawing with Syria 1-1. Iran was leading until the 80th minute when Syria scored. Even though they had a player sent off in the 83rd minute, Iran could not make its extra man superiority count and the game ended 1-1.

Iran finished in 3rd place behine North Korea and Syria.

The coach was poor.  He seemed he was coaching a High School team. Lips Sealed

Long balls and many who driblled and lost the ball.

I am not upset if our played their heart out, changed strategy and utilized all the players, but they did not.

one issue for sure...many teams did not bring their U 16 and brought older players...
I rather loose as many games as possible....yet learn to improve the program.

as for coaching....what I don't understand is,,,,why don't we hire a coach with International experience? This coach was not ready for it at all...
Hasan Rowshan...ex TM player....has been coaching youth teams for years...in Iran and in UAE....why don't we use him? why don't we hire him?
Hasan nazari in Houston Texas is coaching youth....his speciallty is coaching youth....he sent many youngster to USA national team... he will accept the job, if he is called for it
let's say they don't want him...there are many many many coaches in Iran with international experience,as an ex player....
Faramarz Zelli....the old keeper from Pas....he has been coachign the youth clubs in Iran for years
Mohammad Panjali....as we used to call him in the past....THE WALL... or some called him SOTOON... he is also coaching youth in Iran
That's the problem in Iran....we hire a coach because of political reason....an ex sardar or pasdar...
need to start hiring the right people for the right job
