To be an Iranian is a wonderful thing.

Ashkan Dejagah is in talks to play for Team-e-Melli.  He was born in Iran in 1986, so is only 24 years old.

He has played for U17, U19, and U21 of Germany and scored a goal in each category.  However, problems, for example, not going to Israel and other issues caused him not to be invited to German's national team.  Now that the door is closed he is showing interest. Lips Sealed  I remember Ali Daie begged him to play in qualifying 2010 WC games but he refused.

IFF has sent a request to FIFIA because Germany has no problem to let him go.  Moreover, he has not played for German national team (their senior Team-e-Melli).

I will be happy for anybody to join us to improve our football and chance of playing better and getting good results. Smiley

I don't want him. He can go to hell and lick the German backsides.

This piece of nothing sold out his country instead of helping them and now that he has been discarded by the Germans he is trying to get back into TM.

Let him get lost for all I care, the opportunistic undignified fool.

I don't know why he refused to play in Israel, since he chose Germany to play for, he should not have refused to play in Israel.

Let him play for Iran, he'd better get used to playing in play-offs as a routine.

We should not blame someone before hearing all sides.  I read in one publication that in his trip to Iran the police gave him tough time because of his tatto and hair cut. Huh?  He is young, this might have scared him.  He fits German's environment, but we need him to kick some Arab arse. Grin

It has to be said; this sort of situation is not uncommon in today's international football, the guy has to look after his own interest first, when IRIFF doesn't care about our football, what do you expect of a German born player.

Afshin jan, Dejgah was born in Iran. Both his parents are Iranian. They moved to Germany when he was young.

I saw a documentary that showed how young children learn football.  Ashkan attended one of these schools.  He does not like Iran's officials, but knows also that he won't have a chance in German's National team.  Moreover, he does not want to lose for his team, flying to Iran to play no so important national games.

We need anybody who can help our national team.  Yes, I mentioned that he was born in Iran.  He understands more Persian than he can talk.  His German is perfect.

ok....if u guys recall, they tried to force him on Branko too in the 2006 WC but at the end, did not happened.
I am not sure, but I heard from my German friends that his dad used to play in Iran and that's y they r trying to get him play for TM...
I don't think he can help our team at all, reason ....
He played German style
we play...ALI ASGHARI FOOTBALL Wink
he is going to watch his leg and not play 100% for team melli...just like other PRO PLAYER...
compare Shojaie before going to Osasona and now Wink
or Kia, when he played for Hamburg
and to be honest, I would have done the same...my club pays my bill, TM creates HEADACHE
as for airport problems and so on....I do not believe it for second...I go Iran very often and saw worst than his style...nothing happened to people at airport...maybe on the up town tehran...but not at the airport
cannot believe it.
