Looks like Isfahan football is setting the standard for other cities in Iran to follow. our best runs in ACL in recent years have been by Isfahani teams.  How could Esteghlal drop points against a Qatari team in Tehran I wonder!  Esteghlal has more fans than the whole population of Qatar, in fact if Esteghlal fans all go to Qatar their Island would sink.

Afshin jan, what you say is true but its more than fans. They should have good players. Qatari teams have long term plans and they have the money to buy good players who can raise the standard of football in Qatar. They are copying what Japan did in the early 80s.

btw, Bahrain is an island, Qatar is not  Wink but it might break off from the rest of Arabia and sink  Cheesy

Zob Ahan came from behind to win 2-1 at home to Emirates of Dubai.  Smiley

So thats 2 wins and a draw so far against the Arab teams. lets hope Perspolis keeps the good streak going although I kind of doubt it since they are away in Saudi and have been treated badly by the authorities.

I don't know why I thought Qatar was also an Island like Bahrain, I guess they are so small on the map that I hardly notice them.  I remember once I heard Bahrain and Qatar had some territorial dispute and at one point there navy came close to a fight but Saudis stepped in and mediated.  I could not believe the story, biggest joke I have ever heard.  MAA CHEGHADR BADBAKHT SHODIM KEH EEN DO TAA JOOJEH SHAAKHO SHOONEH MIKESHAN!!!!!!!!

To be an Iranian is a wonderful thing.

I saw all Iranian games on Tuesday and Wednesday and two other games.  I recorded several of them to watch later. Grin
Watching Perspolis to lose was humulating for me.  I am upset.  Vahid Hashmian could not play.  He did not have even ONE good pass or shot for the almost twenty minutes that he came in.  Why use him?  I am glad that I am not the coach. Cheesy
