Hashemian willing to play for Iran

I think Hashemian is too old for WC2010 and should not be recalled.

PTV - Iranian Vahid Hashemian has voiced his readiness to play for his country’s national soccer team in the second round of World Cup qualifiers.

“I am all set to play for Iran’s national soccer team if I am invited by the team’s head coach, Ali Daei,” Hashemian told reporters Thursday.

The VfL Bochum striker, nicknamed ‘the helicopter’ for his ability to seem suspended in air during play, said he did not participate in the first round of the World Cup qualifiers because of ‘personal problems’ with his Germen club.

In the South Africa Cup, powerhouses Iran thrashed hosts Syria 2-0 on June 14, securing their qualification for the next phase of Cup.

Iran must now meet Kuwait at home in their final fixture of pre-qualifying group on June 22 at 8:30 pm local time.

Iran currently leads Group 5 with 9 points, followed by the UAE with 8 points. Syria now stands third with 5 points while Kuwait is at the bottom of the group with 4 points.

i would say he is too old if we actually had better strikers that are young and have potentials but for past few years i havent heard of any ...Daie played until he was 37 Hashemian is only 30 he will only be 32\33 by next WC so why not
