According to Iranian news, Afshin Qotbi has signed a 2 year contract to continue being PP manager. This means that he will lead the GREATEST team in Asia to further glory starting with the Asian Champion's League Trophy

افشين قطبي سرمربي تيم فوتبال پرسپوليس تهران شد.

به گزارش خبرنگار ورزشي خبرگزاري دانشجويان ايران (ايسنا)، سرانجام پس از هفته‌ها بلاتكليفي بر سر انتخاب و معرفي سرمربي تيم فوتبال پرسپوليس تهران، افشين قطبي سرمربي فصل پيش اين تيم، با مسوولان باشگاه پرسپوليس به توافق رسيد و رسما هدايت قهرمان ليگ هفتم را به دست گرفت.

به گفته‌ي يكي از اعضاي هيات مديره باشگاه پرسپوليس، افشين قطبي امروز در دبي قراردادش را به مدت دو سال با نماينده اين باشگاه امضا كرده است و قرار است، جمعه شنبه براي ثبت قرارداد به تهران بازگردد.

باشگاه پرسپوليس شرايط قطبي را پذيرفته و حتي تمديد قراداد برخي بازيكنان اين تيم از جمله عليرضا واحدي نيكبخت، به نظر او بستگي دارد.

بر اساس توافق انجام شده بين باشگاه پرسپوليس و افشين قطبي،‌قرار است يك مربي برزيلي به همراه افشين پيرواني دستياران او در پرسپوليس باشند.

قطبي پيش از اين با حبيب‌ كاشاني مديرعامل سابق باشگاه پرسپوليس به توافق نرسيد و اين تيم پرطرفدار پايتخت را ترك كرد. كاشاني نيز پس از آن به دليل مشكلاتي كه در باشگاه پرسپوليس وجود داشت از سمت خود استعفا و جاي خود را به داريوش مصطفوي داد.

در حال حاضر بازيكنان تيم فوتبال پرسپوليس زير نظر افشين پيرواني مربي موقت و جديد اين تيم تمرين مي‌كنند.

افشين قطبي در گفت و گو با خبرنگار خبرگزاري فارس خاطر نشان ساخت: در ايران، پرسپوليس تيم محبوب من است. براي اداي دين به سرزمين مادري*ام و هواداران اين تيم بازگشتم.
وي در مورد همكاري*اش با مربي جديد پرسپوليس، گفت: شناخت نسبتا خوبي از افشين پيرواني دارم. مي*دانم يكي از بهترين مربيان ايراني است. بنابراين، مشكلي از كار در كنارش ندارم.

Ghotbi must have been assured of the resources he asked for to win ACL or he would not have come back, where is Kaveh?

He is taking a huge risk and he knows it.
In one hand, with Estili out of the picture, Afshin should not watch his back. There are bits and pieces of news about him bringing a Brazilian coach. Last year, Ghotbi wanted to bring in the goalkeeper coach of Korea national team who is from Brazil. I am sure he is the one that he will bring in this time.

If I were him I would immediately clean house from bad apples no matter who the players are. I think this time he has the authority to do this but then also he is a bigger target if things fail since this would be his responsibilty.

Good luck to him. The sophomore season will be very different than the freshman one.

Persepolis have gone out of their way to bring Ghotbi back, they have got rid of people who made life difficult for Ghotbi, the way Ghotbi handled Estili and other backward thinking dudes around him showed his high level of professionalism.  Clearly Persepolis want to move to new highs rather than stay in the dark ages.

If Ghotbi is to succeed he will have to appoint his own assistants which is what he has probably been told he can do, also he needs to buy his own players over the summer, playing in 2 tournaments (ACL, PGL) will be challenging, I hope Ghotbi will not make the mistake Sepahan made trying to win Hazfi as well as ACL & PGL, just focus on ACL & PGL, use the reserve team in Hazfi.

I have a feeling PP management are serious about ACL, but I think they should go for all the titles since if they don't win the IPL title next year they could get into ACL by winning the Hafzi Cup.

For that they need to have strength in depth and a good mix of players for the various tournamenets which Qotbi seems to be building.

I really think they can make it to the ACL final with a little rub of the green.

There is no doubt that the  new management has gone out of its way to accommodate Ghtobi.
I will certainly bring whatever I can after I speak with him next week.

Mostafavi needed to make his mark quickly replacing a popular Kashani and he did just that.

It is true and IRIB news said it in the afternoon today...4th of July.
Yesterday...Farokhzadi said he is back....but not much detail....today they said....He is back for 2 years and his Brazilian assistant will be the number 1 assistant and Peyrovanie #2. Abedzadeh for keepers coach...
as Kaveh said....this will be tough...PP has done very poorly in the NAGHLO ENTEGHALAT....most players went to SS, but there is a rumor that Rezaie , Zandi and even ALI Karimi will join PP this year.....will see....
so far, any players they wanted went to SS....Shalouri, Kazemi, Beykzadeh....see whom they get.
Most papers are saying Emad Reza will also sign with PP.....and to be honost.....I don't think he will help... he is very TAK ROO....
Niki also signed a 2 year contract.....Nosrati has done nothing yet...it's so....f...up here, when u read papers, daily SHAYEEEEE AFter shayeeeeee.....

I think he misses real cholo kabob because i can't think of any other reason he would want to go back to PP or Iran for that fact.

With his resume he could easily coach a good asian club, maybe a European club or even MLS. The "Hashieh" bullshit in Iran is just way too much to handle it has to be cholokabob!!!
