Goal - In advance of their trip to Syria to participate in a tournament in Damascus, Sepahan management had contacted the Ali Daei to secure the release of their five players who are currently in Team Melli’s camp in Prague.

However, Ali Daei had refused to agree to their release arguing that due to the cancellation of the practice games while in Spain, it was absolutely important for the Sepahan players to take part in the two games scheduled in Prague.

Things seemed to be heading for a Daei v Sepahan controversy similar to the one earlier this year involving Sepahan defender Hadi Aghili.

The sequel was avoided, however, when Sepahan Personnel Director, Majid Basirat and Daei got on the phone and reached a compromise over the schedules.

Team Melli is scheduled to meet Bohemians 1905 and Sparta Prague before breaking camp and returning to Tehran.

Sepahan are scheduled to meet clubs from Syria, Jordan, and Cyprus as a part of a multinational club tournament in Damascus.
