PTV - Iranian Wushu athlete Ehsan Peighambari has won a bronze medal to become the second Iranian medalist in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Peighambari snatched the medal in the taolu event with a score of 9.59 on Friday.

The Chinese Wushu athlete ranked first with 9.83 and the Russian athlete stood in the second place with a score of 9.63.

Another Iranian wushu athlete Zahra Karimi managed to advance to the semifinal of the women’s 60 kg category in the Sanshou event on Thursday.

Some 128 athletes from 43 countries and regions have participated in the event to compete for 15 gold medals.

The four-day Beijing 2008 wushu Tournament kicked off at the Beijing Olympic Sports Center on Thursday.

The table shows only 1 Gold and 1 bronze.

Looks like Iran's PTV is the only place to say Iran has won 2 bronze, no confirmation of this anywhere else!

Iran appear to have 1 Gold and 1 Bronze

Why!!!  IRIB said Iran has won bronze in Wushu, I heard it today.

They give medals but do not count them in the tally. There are a few sports in Olympics that are treated like that. Usually they are the ones that are being tried out to see whether they are popular and can be officially introduced or not.
