MNA - Persepolis football club is forbidden to employ a foreign coach, according to Iran’s Physical Education Organization (PEO).

Following Afshin Ghotbi’s sudden departure from Persepolis, Afshin Peyrovani has been selected as the team’s interim coach.

PEO’s officials informed Persepolis club that they are not allowed to negotiate with any foreign coaches. The popular club is required to support Peyrovani.

According to PEO’s instructions, any player who disobeys the newly-appointed coach, will be expelled from Persepolis and not allowed to join any other Iranian teams

There you go. Now you know where the smell was coming from. IRI deperately HAD to get rid of Qotbi with insider player/staff help and keep their own lacky boy in place.

The stink of IRI, IRIFF and IRIPEO is worse than that of pigshite.

To say this is undemocratic is an understatement!  In a Professional League you don't get a Government entity telling a league club who they can and who can't appoint as their coach

I agree with your comments.

We need to work together to separate sports from religion.  Religion is a personal thing and must not enter our sports.
