Just to confirm Team Melli are playing Saipa at Ardebil's new 20,000 capacity stadium on Friday May 23rd, this will be the first match played in the newly built stadium.

(PressTV) Iran’s national soccer team is to play a friendly match against Saipa FC in the inauguration ceremony of the Ali Daei stadium.The Ali Daei Stadium is a 20,000-seater stadium which is located in Ardebil in Iran.

First Vice President Parviz Davoudi, Minister of Housing and Urban Development Mohammad Saeedi-Kia, and head of Physical Education Organization Mohammad Aliabadi are among the top officials to attend the ceremony at 5: 00 pm local time on Friday.

The stadium is part of a much larger sports complex that expands over 40,000 square meters.

Iran’s Football Federation (IFF) selected world-record international scorer Ali Daei as the national team’s head coach on March 2.
