PTV - Former Croatian football manager Tomislav Ivic is expected to arrive in the Iranian capital next week to meet with Persepolis FC officials.

Ivic will visit the club at the invitation of Persepolis’ current coach Afshin Peyrovani.

The news was confirmed by the club’s spokesman, Majid Farrokhzadi, on Friday.

Ivic will come to Iran as Peyrovani’s special guest and will meet with the club’s Board of Directors if necessary,” Mehr news agency quoted Farrokhzadi as saying.

“The Croatian manager will probably provide assistance to Peyrovani,” he added.

The 75-year-old Ivic coached Persepolis in the 1997-1998 season and steered the Iranian national soccer squad at the 1998 FIFA World Cup.

Isn't he old?  I do not mind him to be an advisor, but a coach?  I am not sure.

He brought excellent discipline to our defence and national team it was not unfortunate to let him leave.

Football is a reflection of our society, officials keep making mistakes. Angry
