PTV - The banned Iranian soccer legend, Ali Karimi, says he hopes his 'constructive criticism' will benefit Iran's national soccer team.  Karimi claimed he meant no disrespect to anyone but criticized the country's soccer federation in the hope of helping to improve the team's current situation.

According to the former Bayern Munich midfielder, national interests always have a priority over personal goals and the fact that he has been banned by the federation is of no importance if it helps the team.

"The victory of the national team can bring happiness to all Iranians. I criticize only because I am worried about the future of the national team," said the 'Asian Maradona' in an interview with Mehr news agency on Saturday.

Afshin jaan I like Karimi but I think he is full of it. Criticizing is easy. There are many in Iran (and outside of Iran) who like to critisize our football but there are few that offer good solutions.

ali jaan, over the years I have criticised Karimi for his laziness and lack of professionalism, a man of his talent should not have turned Athletico Madrid down and joint some amateur club in UAE which is what Karimi did, had he been a hard worker he would have done wonders in Europe for 10 years just like Mahdavikia did.

But the latest incident of banning Karimi has shocked me to be honest with you, banning him for pointing out to our problems was dictatorial, you get head coaches everywhere including n Europe who drop players for disciplinary reasons or for disagreements between the two but for the football federation to ban a player for criticising them is a bit out of the ordinary.

if they would kick Karimi out of team cuz of his poor performance and lazziness, I would be absolutly fine.... but banning him cuz of criticizing the federation is another story...it looks like a warning to other players to not criticize IFF...... I think now we need a huge pressure on this corrupted gang in IFF..they are really destroying our football step by step with their stupidity

ali_europe jaan

eversince WC2006 things have been going from bad to worse in our football, Ghalenoei played the mafia game when he took over (which is why he was appointed), he then destroyed whatever it was Blazevic and Ivankovic had built, and the Croat pair did our football a lot of good in the years they were around, rather than appointing a better coach than Branko to advance our football after WC2006 they got the Mafia insider Ghalenoei to destroy the team.

During Ghalenoei's year in charge IRIFF insiders used public forums to brainwash the fans and ran propaganda in favour of Ghalenoei, sadly many innocent fans fell into the systems trap and acted emotionally by supporting GN saying they would support Team Melli no matter who the coach, this was worse than drinking poison.  The likes of Babak Talebi (Jalal Talebi's son) and Kazem Ghiassi (nephew of Reza Ghiassi who was in charge of referees in Iran) tactfully created a lot of division on public forums and got the fans to fight eachother, by muddying the water Mr Babak T (on IK) whose father is on IRIFF payroll and Mr KAZ (Kazem Ghiassi, another IRIFF insider) ensured those who were trying to expose the corruption in the system were attacked and insulted in an attempt to silence them, they attacked me for years but I continued to write and expose, it is sad that site owners such as that of IK (also ISP with KAZ) have allowed their forums and resources be used by the Mafia in our football system to run propaganda and promote their sick agendas, lets face it, when your father is earning money in the system then you are not going to say MAASTEH MAA TORSHEH are you?

Now IRIFF ban players for talking, I am not a fan of Karimi as such due to his laziness and playing in Arab countries and turning down offers from Europe (better chelokabab in UAE than Madrid I guess) but I support Karimi in this instance, it is a disgrace banning him for stating simple facts about IRIFF and the incompetent and corrupt management in there.

it would be good if entire team melli players would refuse to play until IFF managment would be fired...I know usually in normal cases players shouldn't battle in public with the football federation, but in case of IRAN corruption and disasterous managment is getting to a level, where an unussual action would be necessary.... it would only work if entire team would refuse to play, cuz if only one or two would do that, IFF can easiely ban them....but it is impossible to ban a whole team.....and an action by a whole team would get a huge public attention.....newspaper would be forced to report it and people would get angry and put a huge pressure on the the government and the officials would be forced to almost fire the entire IFF managment.........

even we might miss the qualification by such action, but there is a german proverb which says: better to have a painfull end than a never ending pain
