I hope this topic will be the last VOTING topic...
loooooool

We have changed 3 coaches in less than 1 month.
Finally, the guy whom was supposed to do the job over a year ago, got it Wink

Finally....HAGH be HAGH dar resied....

However, can he do it? he is signed for 3 games only
to see if he can do it
he says....he can
but
in reality....
can he?
Is he ready NOW?

IMHO, I think so....
he knows S.Korea very well
he knows N.Korea well enough, same as UAE
but the key here is
S.KOREA, our game against them is our last game
by that time, S.Korea might have already packed its bag for WC 2010 and this game will be just a show.
Which might help us....they come with their 2nd team and we go with our best
or
it could be one of those LIVE or DIE for both teams....
in this case, I rather have Qotbi on the bench since he knows very well the positive and negative things about S.Korean players....I would not be surprised if Qotbi kills them in Seol....
we shall see

Qotbi is for sure a better choice than mayeli kohan, but I have huge doubts if he would have much success... he might have same destiny as Ivankovic...IFF will use him to blame him at the end for the failure... first they hire him and later they will create so many troubles for him (not giving him the friendly games he would need, creating on trouble after other ) and once the whole thing would not work, all blame would be put on him.......that is IFF strategy

ali jan....actually I do not agree with you this time Wink
you see,,,,this is a win  - win situation for Qotbi...
if he takes the team to WC 2010..... people will say...woooooooow....Daei could not get any points from those teams before...
if he does not....and we don't make it....he can say....hey, you gave this team a little bit late to me and this was not enough time and so on....
so, he is in better shape now than before.... this was exactly the argument some had for Kohan....they said, no matter what Kohan will be a hero....same here for Qotbi.
but....ofr these 3 games, there are not much IFF can do to hurt him....unless they push players on him.
Regarding the games and so on....they have enough time for a game Vs. China and that's it....there is not enough time for any other game....
leage will be over oon and the players can join team melli....what I like about Qotbi and I admired last year in PP.....he has enough knowledge about fitness....remember last year PP had so many games and players were tired.....he used his knowledge to his advantage and PP's players were the only players ready to play. He did not kill them, practices were light, he used lifting for recovery and that was the key.
Right now, Players are tired....look at the AFC games....all 4 teams sucked this week...3 teams lost and 1 team tied....horrible result
I do not know why.....but I can see the light....I can see IRAN going to WC 2010.....I think in this fight... N.korea will be the loser....I bet you N.korea will be the victim for KSA and their deals behind the door Wink

we will beat N.Korea and UAE easily.....and thena tie with S.Korea
bammmmmmmmm.....helloooooooooo S.Africa Wink

I voted yes, Ghotbi should have been appointed when Ghalenoei was sacked, then he should have been appointed on the day Daei was sacked, now he has very little time, but he is the only coach who can do something for Team Melli right now, he knows our players and our league, he is Iranian with the professionalism of an European, he is quite unique, even if we fail to qualify for WC2010 Ghotbi should be offered a contract to take Iran to Asia 2011.
